Air Stream Therapy

Air Stream Therapy is a revolutionary and unique invention that uses pure air to stimulate the circulation through deep, yet pain free massage. It's non-invasive and has been approved as a safe device.

Compressed air passes through a unique Air Stream system containing heater elements, filters, oil drip-feeders and regulators. This purified air is then channelled through to the specially designed hand-held jets for application to the skin.

The jets are designed to set up an agitation, which provides the circulatory massage without damaging the skin tissue. The result of an Air Stream Therapy treatment is a significant improvement in blood circulation, which enhances the healing process of damaged tissue and in turn aids the removal of toxins from the body and promotes a more stable circulatory system.

The specially designed hand-held jets have one or more outlets on the head to create different degrees of airflow. Each jet provides a particular type of action and has been individually designed to provide differing treatments depending on the type of injury.

Any sport injury, which will benefit from a deep penetrative massage, will have positive results from Air Stream Therapy treatment.

The deep penetrating massage and an increase in blood flow and oxygen to a damaged area, speeds up recovery time significantly. Players can spend more time on the sports field and less time injured, saving organisations time and money.

Recovery time has been proven to be reduced dramatically when athletes have been treated with Air Stream Therapy. Treatment is carried out at the origin and insertion of the muscle, as well as the area over the injury to stimulate the blood flow to encourage the healing of the injury whilst at the same time promoting removal of excess fluid that may have gathered at the site of the injury. The heat of the Jet applied can be altered from warm to cold in order to reduce the swelling and inflammation of the muscle. Oils are used together with the treatment to help with relieving the bruising and swelling in the injured area. An increase in the oxygen and nutrients to the muscle aids the healing process.

Air Stream Therapy is also a valuable treatment for pre/post operative cases and offers the following benefits for such:

  • Increase toxin elimination and oxygenation.
  • Helps with pain management
  • Increase in comfort levels
  • Reduces bruising
  • Increases mobility
  • Reduces healing time
  • Reduces swelling

The improvement of circulation to the joints can only help in the removal of fluid build-up in the areas, and if used, the coldness of the therapy should alleviate the inflammation and improve the blood flow to the area bringing oxygen and nutrients to the damaged tissues.
